  • Unfourtunately, it's not uncommon for firefighters to find the bodies of deceased children under beds, in toy boxes, closets, etc. A small child will generally opt for the familiar in a crisis, no matter what the situation is. A fire kindled by a dry Christmas tree will reach flashover conditions much more rapidly than normal. Finally, the mask that the little boy was wearing is a pressure garment designed to reduce scarring.

  • I'm sorry if this sounds mean, but first, I would have lifted the bed off it's frame instead of trying to reason with a frightened 2 yr. old. Second- if he was pulling and kicking me in that situation, a firm smack on the butt, and telling him straight: we need to leave- knock it off! it may have been the way the episode reenacted it, but a serious lack of common sense seemed to take place here.

  • @22aquinn i agree

  • What is the guys name at 8:53?

  • My mom had a fire in her house on Christmas eve years ago

My grandma left a burning candle on the dining room table; it tipped over and burned the table and ceiling my grandfather put out fire w extinguisher

It took a week for all the smoke to disappear from everyones' noses

  • I am Approx 94Mi NNW of Wichita Kansas I can hear their Police, Fire and EMS Dispatch on my Scanner.. interesting.. it hits close to home...

  • A word of warning this is a prime example of my point.. Those real Christmas trees are Extremely flammable and once the Sap catches up.. it is like a tender box.. We use the same wood in our fireplaces.. While real Christmas trees may smell good and be more authentic, If you get one make absolutely sure it is well watered.. if not.. get a flame retardant one from the local department store.. they even have Scented ones now that smell like the real thing.. All different colors shapes and sizes.

  • @MrProudiam good job. i have a fire extinguisher too

  • its always good to be prepared. im a mom and a wife and 4 dogs i consider my children as well. We have fire extinguishers and a plan. My husband thinks im obsessed but i know im not.

  • he was. lol. i remember when i was a kid, my mom tried to get me out of the way becuase there was a snake near us. i acted just like the little boy. she finally picked me up and carried me away. when we were safe she slapped me a few times. lol.

  • Looks like his ears are certainly big enough - she should've dragged him out of the house by them.
