I've been playing around with Open D for a week now and having tons of fun. I first learned Tampa Red's Denver Blues, and then Johnny Winter's Broke Down Engine, and now I want to try to learn this . Thanks for posting.

Hi. I just started side guitar and this has really helped me. I must also confess that I often find myself doing that da - da -daaa at the end of my turn arounds but thanks to you NEVER AGAIN. My face went red with embarrassment - what was I thinking all these years. A really big thanks to you for pointing that out. I owe you. Cheers.

@bstrblock - Hi there ! No, it's not a Regal anything.
It's a Michael Messer Lightning. Check out his website and forum :

Thank you so much for posting this. I think your version of Dust My Broom with the 1933 Duolian posted on pickin parlor was fantastic & should be posted on youtube.

Hi there ! Many thanks for your wonderful compliment.
Perhaps I will get around to posting that song.
It was originally done to demonstrate the guitar, as I was selling it.

Thank you.
Excellent job of breaking this down. I applied it all and it jumped my technique levels way past where they would have been otherwise.
Kudos from Florida!

You are very welcome. I think the shuffle rhythm Elmore plays is SO fundamental to getting his overall sound just right on so many of his songs. After you know how to do it, the standard type shuffle every guitarist can do will just never sound right again !!
