Pure Irish Drops concert in the Rathaus, Waldshut-Tiengen. Michael 'Blackie O'Connell playing a stunning set on Uillean pipes as a tribute to the late Johnny Doran. The tunes are 'Colonel Frasier' and 'Rakish Paddy'.

  • "The music" was an example of, and a tribute to, the free flowing and improvisational style of the great travelling piper Johnny Doran.

  • Fair play to Blackie, but I find this impressive on a technical level at best. Them piping showpieces (Bucks, Colonel F, Steampacket et al) just don't do it for me. Where's the music?

  • is the last tune a gordon duncan tune

  • Very technical, but in my opinion not very musical and consequently not a very enjoyable listen.for me

  • So amazing!

    Go raibh maith agat.
