Nice March day to pull this project out of the back shed. The motor had a stuck exhaust valve so I had to pull the head and free it up. A little bit more tinkering and away she went. This movie is the third time the engine had been started since I pulled it from the shed and it still needed a little tweaking. The tires are turning in the video. This was shot with my crappy little Kodak.

  • Hi, What do you need to know?

  • What are the two levers for by the handle bars. Double clutches?

  • One lever engages the drive wheels and the other lever is to engage implements like a front mounted sickle mower.

  • I was just given an old simplicity and this video helped me ID it, thanks man. Is yours a 4 speed?

  • Hi, Sorry about the delay in getting back to you. This model is a four speed but the engine pulley was missing when i got the machine so I only have a single groove pulley on it now.

  • I've got a Simplicity and so far I'm only guessing it's a L model. The tag or ID reads 49 and nothing else. I'm wondering how to get the drive belt hooked up, because currently there's an an idler pulley that require's constant tension by the operator. I was wondering if you could make a video how the belt is aligned and position of the lever. It's a one speed and no reverse. Any chance of making a video?
