@PsychologyInSeattle Hi, yeah, I didn't intentionally mean to be enigmatic. My 6 year old son was putting anti-nail biting stuff on my fingers as I was typing and he had asked me if he could do it and I perfunctorily said 'yeah, yeah' before I realized what I was getting myself into...I think the 'thought experiment' is there - I'm not trying to be an Einstein - I just like cooking up these scenarios I guess...

@jamespro95 What if she had 'picked' Rogers? We would have said: "of course, she needed the support, Rogers had developed rapport...blah blah blah." This is a form of hindsight bias - it sounds 'reasonable' or 'plausible' but that's not enough to know for sure, is it? I would like to know how Shostrom had worded his question (he being quite enamored to Perls). Also, Gloria's circumstance at that exact time might have been a factor (she had been a therapy 'graduate' and helped Shostrom.
Hey - great video, I enjoyed it thoroughly (or great audio - either way). The only thing I would add is that Gloria, a year later after the Gloria film was completed, stood up in a crowd with Rogers present and yelled: "how could I let him do this to me?" This was documented in Doliver (1980) I believe and by Rogers as well and she was quite upset and angry. Doliver also wrote an article "What are you doing with your feet?" which is funny and sad. Lastly, a thought experiment:

@jamespro95 Thanks for the comment and thanks for listening. We were thinking about having an episode about the aftermath of Gloria, so thanks for the Doliver reference.
You wrote "Lastly, a thought experiment:" and then nothing. Are you trying to be enigmatic? If so, mission accomplished. ;-)
