Redub over rare clip from 1965. (Sorry, audio is out of sync at the end.) This is the original lineup of the group in its early days: Bill (Willie) Fulton, Denny Ellis, David Stensen, and Bill Schoppe.

  • Great clip! The original lineup DID record this track, but with all due respect, the video has Fulton on vocals, but the band (at least drummer Bill Schoppe) had just been replaced. I think I read they kept Fulton for a few tracks before he left. There are different vocal versions of this track too. Thanks for posting!!

  • @Micktone You're welcome and thanks for the info! I do see Dave Stenson in this clip, but the others aren't clear. Also, this was a show called 'Shivaree' aired 11-27-65, the year before 'Where The Action Is.' They also sang 'Hitch Hike' but I don't have that clip (if it even exists!).

  • what a great time to be growing up in southern california, and hearing songs like this on AM radio. i bought this 45 when it came out, and yet it was unknown in the rest of the country. was so surprised years later, seeing so many southern california hits not on the billboard charts, or charting at the bottom of the top 100. it was 1965 and so many artists covering dylan for their first singles....grass root, byrds, cher, turtles, etc.

  • Never heard this song before. Very nice song. Don't know why but this song kinda reminds me of early Stones from '64 and '65. I guess it's the way he's singing and the style. Anyway, I do enjoy this clip. Thanks for posting a great rarity. :)
