So the last episode before New Year's and I wanted to start off by saying thank you to all of you for watching and supporting me in this little endeavor your words are very kind and I'm grateful and I truly do appreciate it.

To the comics. Graphic novels. It's a Frank Miller week so first off we have Sin City. For those who haven't read the book it's a series of film noir crime stories that are fantastic as stand alone or as the entire series. One of the great things is that you don't have to read it in any order you can just read them as you find them.

Also from Frank Miller is the oddly sized 300. It was a great movie and a great graphic novel retelling of the famous battle. 300 Spartans stand against an empire in order to bring attention to their people that something is wrong. Take whatever allegory you want and put it here, this story is one of the oldest stories and still one of the best.

New releases:

Action Comics 860 which is part of the Superman and the Legion of Superheroes storyline and it's still a great story.

Captain America 33 is the fight we've been waiting for since the Cap's death, the fight between Bucky and Iron Man. This issue also sets up the new Captain America. Who will it be? Well that's not a real question.

Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash 3 really I just put these in cause you guys like em so much I hate them...ah who am I kidding this stuff is GREAT!

I also weight in on the ending to Spiderman's One More Day.

Until next week keep reading. Oh, and Happy New Year!

  • Would you recommend getting the hard cover set?

  • @TravisTuchdown I recommend reading them. I would never recommend someone to spend that type of money if they don't have it. If you really like them and have the money sure, but otherwise the trade paper backs are just as good.

  • but it doesn't show canniblezem does it? i looked through it and this girl talks about but it doesn't show. i also heard most of the violence is implied. and i'm 14 do you think it would it be ok? i mean i've read watch men and 30 days of night and thoughs were pretty hardcore so just wondering if it would be ok in your oppinion.

  • Some of it is implied and other bits are shown, but it's very cartooned in the film noir style. I'd say if you've read 30 days of night (which was a decent story but terrible art IMHO) and Watchmen than this is nothing. You'll find it a good read.

  • whats wrong with it? like violence, sex, that stuff?

  • The first Sin City (The Hard Goodbye) has sex violence cannibalism to begin with. There is nothing done over the top as it's all black and white, but I wouldn't hand it to a 9 year old and call it appropriate reading. It's meant for adults, and is written in a film noir style.

  • awesome i'll check it out when i get to borders (or a borders that has it) you have been very informative, and i'll tell you how you how i like it.

  • Sin City is a very mature comic. It depends on the child but it's really not meant for anyone under the age of 16. And I think that's being a little to lenient.

  • what age would you recomend sincity 1 for? and what inappropriete in it?

  • Um Flash Tomson was never dead.
