11 people died and 21 others have been hospitalized following a road accident that occurred along the Thika-Sagana highway. A minibus believed to have been carrying members of a family and a few friends who were coming from Mwea from a dowry negotiation ceremony plunged into the Saba Saba river. In yet another incident, 2 people died on the spot... A father and his child...while three other children were left in critical condition following an accident at Mazeras town near Mariakani in the coast region... and with cases of road carnage increasing everyday especially during this festive season, just like we did last week on our weekend theme, we emphasize that all should take extra caution as we travel during this festive season. Sheila Sendeyo reports on the latest incidents of road carnage.
I would love to blame all these accidents on insufficient marking of lanes and poor signage at dangerous spots. Then again I see how people drive in downtown Nairobi and I don't think that my argument would hold any ground.
