Babington Ball style burner. I used a 3/8 flare nut with the end turned round and polished. a single .0100 hole drilled in the end. Nozzle assembly is 1-1/4 pipe with a 3/16 SS brake line feeding the nozzle. Pictures of the assembly are on Photobucket. http://s642.photobucket.com/albums/uu145/TheEquineFencer/Babington%20ball/
It quit burning because the fuel level dropped. My next stage is to build a constant level oil feed system to provide the same fuel flow all the time. When I get that right, then I'll add the solenoids for the air/fuel and an igntion system. My plan is to use this to heat water to replace/supplement my wood fired Taylor heater. I plan to put a 4 inch pipe inside a capped 9 inch pipe and plumb the heated water back to the wood fired heaters water tank. I'm working on getting the ball/flare nut laser cut for the next few I build, if you're intrested in one, let me know, they get cheaper the more they do at one time.
