I grew up in Durham, left many years ago. This is a wonderfu little video, showing that the downtown is much as it once was. Except: better in one important respect - all of the establishments you show are open to everyone. When I was a child, segregation ruled - and it ruled everywhere in Durham. But one thing that's sad: the disappearance of the old Jack Tar Hotel building (next to the CCB building). Astounding, unbelievable, that it could be demolished.
I think downtown durham will out grow Raleigh & Winston-Salem skyline because yall seem to have yall stuff together when it comes down to developing a downtown.
