I think the only thing disturbing about this is the fact that WVU officials gave their mountaineer a hard time. He represents the interests of people in his state. Hunting always has been and always will be an honorable tradition in the mountain state. It's not hard to imagine that people may have to kill their own food again some day if our country falls on hard times as we have in the past. I think it's awesome that their mascot is that genuine.

Read about this in outdoor life, I'm not sure about the game laws in WV, I think it's pretty great that he used his musket, but that bear looks really small.
