The Deer Hunter is the best war movie ever. I loved Meryl preformce. She never seems to not amaze me. She's the best.

@aprilwearsgucci - I believe that too was my favorite war story. I believe she said when asked how she came about the character in Deer Hunter. She said she played that character "with almost a tear

in her eye" What a wonderful performance she gave. She said she knew that character very well. I wonder if she wasn't playing herself because John Cazale was dying of cancer.. If she did played herself she is incredible human being.
