I like how relaxed maine coons are meeting other cats, mine has never hissed when meeting a new cat, he;s too interested, but he does swat a lot.

Hi tom. We already decided to name the little one MURPHY! 3 reasons for that, (1) it was suggested to us from a dear friend, who said, that our second cat should have an Irish name as well, (2) the cat is a bit like "Murphy's Law" that says "anything that can go wrong, will" and (3) i really like Murhpy's beer! Cheers :-)

About your question. I'd say, they are using their paws more than other cats, but they certainly don't insist on eating with us. I guess this can be tought to any cat. But Maine Coons have some more particular behaviours: they like to sleep on hard surfaces (don't every buy any soft beds for them!), they adore water (they drink and play a lot with it) and they prefer to chase something on the floor, than in the air.
