@typhoonq At this time, No they cant afford it, Thu give it a decade and they will be able to.. Was poor choice to purchase this vessel, Would have been better off spending that $300+ million on improving there industry, economy etc...

@MrVonnoobie Most of the time, this mini Aircraft carrier is sitting at the Dock in Thailand. It is really a waste of money as Thailand can ill afford to maintain such an espensive Toy.
Some one from the Thai Defence Ministry must have line his pocket and got rich by buying such vessel from Spain.

@jdranetz You are right but it can also carry small jet fighters like 6 new Gripen that we got from sweden.

It's an aircraft carrier, technically, but can only operate vstol aircraft like Harriers. These are meant for small operations, or escort duty. It is not meant for air superiority or air supremacy deployment. Only a super carrier can keep enough that much steel flying for extended period of time in the area needed to be covered.
