@68generation 68, everyone country has rich and poor people at both ends of the scale... Sao Paulo in Brazil for example, which is considered an LEDC. But has both rich people living in the centre and the slums on the outside, no medium... So everywhere has problems.
I don't hate the Usa. I am an American citizen like you mister! And I got the best grades when I finished my schooling in the US so DON'T OFFEND people, it just makes you an arrogant racist. Schools in Italy have got many international awards and recognitions and they surely stand up to German schools too. So what are you talking about?? And it is always the Left that takes care for better schooling for EVERY BODY not just an élite like the RIGHT.
I know America is wealthier, but since I've there long enough, I know for sure that it is one of the countries where it is worst distributed. The US has extremely rich people and extremely poor people (sometimes living next to each other), so I'm afraid I don't agree with you. My friends in the US envy our social medicine system, so it seems that NOT everybody can actually afford to pay for health care.
I think the State should at least control the basic needs of society such as health, schooling, & water. These are to be made available to everybody. People cannot die because they cannot pay medicines like in the Us.
sorry, i was just laughing because you are lumping socialism, communism, and fascism into one.
as far as china and the former soviet union go: wouldn't you say that state-capitalism is a more appropriate description? after all, in so-called "communist" countries, the majority of the wealth is held by the state, and not the people. in america, the wealth is held by the business class. it really is a difference between laissez faire capitalism, and state-capitalism.
how do I explain all the hunger and misery. Well I am a Christian, so all the hunger and misery is because we are a fallen creation. There will always be those things here on earth because we are not perfect. Clearly though you would agree that you had rather be poor and miserable in a capitalist society with a representative democracy/republic than a communist/fascist/socialist country. You know people starved to death in Russia and China also.
ah no most of the world is not capitalist. when a govt controls or owns the means of production it is not capitalism. you also have to couple capitalism with representative democracy, a bi product of capitalism or vice versa. China is not a capitalist country, Russia is not a capitalist country, the Middle East are not capitalists nor is much if not all of Africa.
