Fun snake walking sticks have been a very popular woodcarving/woodshop project with my students (and me!) for several years. They are well liked by all ages and a great project for kids. I've seen some very nice snake sticks made by 12 year olds so I'd consider it a relatively easy project to master. Have some fun making it but as always... never compromise safety!

  • i suppose you may have found out by now but hazel is a good choice and in plentiful supply, i personally would use blackthorn as you get some good natural twists in it.
