  • There was a 12 inch vinyl single of "on the shelf', but the label only pressed singles for promotional DJs. Even worse, the label on the record listed them as 'D&M' with no photo . They weren't too sure if anyone would buy 'disco' from the Osmonds. Donny's previous single 'Disco Train' didn't spark.. This is a good song, but by then, it was 1979 and disco was on the way out (in the USA). I do remember them promoting this on other variety shows.

  • @punchcar Alright! Thanks for sharing that piece of history!!

  • I must be gettin' old. I miss when this kind of music dominated the airwaves. And is it just me or does Marie look like Sheena Easton here?

  • @BlogShag I totally agree. And what a compliment to both women.

  • Always loved this song...thanks

  • @dickjim1 and religion has nothing to do with the venue or the show. It's not like giving people bad seats earns Donnie & Marie any money. If another show or venue did the same thing and they were another religion would u still blame it on religion, especially if it was your own religion?
