1963 Intl Convention, Toronto, Canada. Buzz is on the far right singing tenor.
RIP Buzz, you're teaching barbershop tags with some of the greats gone before you now.

Thank you for teaching me some of my first tags back in the early 80's.

You will be missed.

  • This is posted to remember Buzz Haeger.

Buzz taught me some of the first tags I ever learned back before I ever joined a chapter back in 1980 and 1981.

RIP Buzz -- teaching tags in 7th Heaven.

  • Hey, wait a minute! The Contest Administrator at the Judges’ Table forgot his laptop!! How’s he supposed to tally the scores without a laptop!?

  • @lifesayacht

Terry, I remember watching them practice too--sometimes in the living room--sometimes in the basement. I remember the other quartets coming to the house too--like the Suntones singing "Lazy Bones" in the family room. Vacations were usually convention and Barbershop was a way of life for us. I miss it, but most of all I miss Dad.

  • I also remember them practicing in our home and going to shows and contests. They had more fun than the audience and they had to pay to get in. Watching this video always brings a joyful tear to my eye. I miss you dad, Buzz and Ben. It's good to still see Joe & Tom and talk of old times. Terry

  • I like barbersshop.....and this is grate

  • Great video!

This was before my grandpa's time, but they still sound awesome. :)

(my grandpa was Ben Williams, and Jim Foley was affectionately known to me as "Uncle Jim")

  • This video is great! It brought tears to my eyes. I would like to see more videos on some of their famous songs like "Daddy's Little Girl," "The Little Boy," "Yesterday" and "Last Night Was The End of the World." My brother Tom Felgen sings bass in this quartet and is still singing in a contest this week. BF

  • Hey! They used to practice in our living room too - WELL into the early morning hours! That's why they were champions! Tom Felgen's my dad. I used to listen from upstairs through the register grate.

  • I remember growing up with them all at my Grandparents house! Practicing late nights in the kitchen while my brother and i snuck out to listen to those melodic tunes. Hell I remember going to conference with them all. i miss all of em...

great people are always the hardest to forget.

  • majinzimmy, if your grandfather was Jim Foley, you're a lucky guy. Jim was also one of the best fellows I've ever known and had the privilege to have sung with. What a funny, talented guy your grandfather was. Buzz, Jim, Ben Williams were all great singers and entertainers and just great guys. Tom Felgen remains and is a hell of a good barbershopper and woodshedder. He's been to a few of the Pioneers' conventions and sings as good as ever. Solid quartet this one was with 4 standouts 1 and all
