the crops are all in, and the peaches are rotting
the oranges are piled in their creosote dumps
they're flying them back to the mexican border
to pay all their money to wade back again
goodbye to my juan, goodbye rosalita
adios mis amigos, jesus and maria
you won't have a name when you ride the big airplane
all they will call you will be deportees
my father's own father, he waded that river
they took all the money he made in his life
my brothers and sisters can't work in the fruit trees
they rode the big trucks 'til they laid down and died
goodbye to my juan, goodbye rosalita
adios mis amigos, jesus and maria
you won't have a name when you ride the big airplane
all they will call you will be deportees
a sky plane caught fire over los gatos canyon
a fireball of lightning it shook all the hills
who are these loved ones that died like the dry leaves?
the radio tells me they're just deportees
we died in your hills and we died in your valleys
we died in your deserts and we died plains
we died in your trees and we died in your bushes
both sides of the river, we died just the same
goodbye to my juan, goodbye rosalita
adios mis amigos, jesus and maria
you won't have a name when you ride the big airplane
all they will call you will be deportees
is this the best way we can grow our big orchards?
is this the best way can grow our good fruit?
to die like the dry leaves and rot on the topsoil
and to be known by no name except deportee
goodbye to my juan, goodbye rosalita
adios mis amigos, jesus and maria
you won't have a name when you ride the big airplane
all they will call you will be deportees
What a great cover of one of my favorites. And sadly, as Dave Says, It is all to applicable to day. I also love your Dylan covers.

It is great to see young people carrying on the folk tradition. Unfortunately this song (lyrics) still applies today. Nice version! Keep up the good work!
