@melfriend7 That was at the very end of Holmgrens career. He was always hurt, and couldn't fight, and could hardly even play. The guy was one of the toughest guys ever to lace em up.

Holmgren landed several ok shots for the CLEAR WIN when his opponent only wanted to wrestle/hugs.

melfriend7 - technically your right, Holmgrem got his ass kicked in that fight but but but that fight was in Holmgrems last year he was playing for the North Stars -- He was injured, past his prime and had a bad shoulder and retired early due his injuries.. I give Carlson the win, but that fight might have been different if Holmgrem was healthier!! - the other thing is Holmgren was actually a good 2 way player!

nobody sacraficed his body with with checks along the boards like holmgren,
he spooked everyone on the ice was alert when it was his shift because he was gonna lay you out!

Holmgren could hardly skate without pain
when he fought carlson, he had a bad hip pointer the last 4 yrs of carreer. that forced him into retirement at 29 yrs. old
he said he could not hold any balance with right hip during fights the last 3 yrs of career.
