Good stuff. Also, you can use PFlow (particle systems) to scatter trees, rocks or any objects onto a surface. Set the particle type to Instanced Geometry, select your tree, set Particle Location to the Surface of your ground object, set the number of particles, etc. and you're set.

Open up 3Ds Max program. Then goto file and import. Then you find your file from Civil 3D. You have to already have Civil 3d though.
