AT&T operator refuses to help-San Diego Fire Storm

I work at a hospital located in
Rancho Bernardo and I live in
San Diego. Radio reports indicated
that The Interstate 15 to Rancho
Bernardo was closed off and evacuations
were pending. I was scheduled to work
at 3:00 p.m. and I needed to know if I
was to report for work to assist in the
evacuation of patients.

My Sprint cell phone did not work during
the fire storms, so I used a land line to
call the AT&T operator. I explained to
her the situation and asked her to call
the hospital collect for me.

She said, "you do not have long distance
service with AT&T, so I can not connect
you collect" Unbelievable!!

Apparently, AT&T has no concern
for the lives of people. There is no
law that forces them to care. However,
as consumers we do not have to use
AT&T services.

I will be exploring my options with other
service providers.

AT&T does suck...We got their "Fast Access" DSL. Fast access my foot. It took me 40 minutes to get my modem connected...then once I did it was slower than dail-up it always is at dail-up speed...I would rather have that from Verizon (They do not offer DSL in my area)...as soon as I get my laptop we are going to switch to Road Runner, a really fast internet that is over a cable line...

AT&T sucks and so many people I know have their mobility service...even when they have left them for home service!!!

NEWS FLASH!!! THERE IS NO REASON TO UTILIZE ANY AT&T SERVICES.

You can thank the Federal Govt for breaking up the Bell System in 1984! This is what the Govt requires. FYI
