  • Was Yahweh the son of El?

  • There are some who say early on this was the situation. Heiser contends that by the time the O. T. was written, the El-Yahweh composite amalgamation had occurred. In other words, there is only one High God in the O. T. being Yahweh. I don't things are settled just yet. I intend on sharing both views in more vids.

  • Excellent comments on The Ugaritic material. I am a proponent of the 4 their pantheon.. But could change my mind...LOL. Excellent point on the creation. Just like this example of being read back on to text. We do the same today. And it's one of my biggest issues. Weeding out the garden to find the original plants. eg. (Christian ideas forced on Isaiah is one example.) LOl Awesome video..This also raised huge issues with prophecy, pesher, and symbols, how they are interpreted in literature.

  • Oh when we get around to studying the symbols and pesher we be in for treats all over the place! The scholars rock on this also! So much to share, so little time - sigh......

  • Wrote this twice because I thought it did not post. LOL Sorry :(

  • Great point on the The Ugaritic literature. I hold to the 4 tier pantheon hypothesis so far. LOL. I think what happened to El in the Uagitic El happen to Yahweh in Christianity. By time of the Baal Epic El is faded out and Baal takes over. However for some reason El still had some kind of influence. El mourned for Baal when He fought Death. And cut himself. Which is interesting.
