@Andi88T One of the things you have to do to make sure that doesn't happen is show that there was a definite stop in the opponent's momentum before you go in for the sutemi waza. I remember once in a tourni my opponent went in for a drop seoinage, which I stepped around and countered with jigoku jime. I clearly had him in control on the floor, but the referee gave my opponent ippon because it just looked like he took me over.
With the new IJF rules this might be useful.

I tried this in a Judo tournament, and the other guy got waza-ari. Never did it since.

I pinned a guy when I was in highschool using this.... had never seen it before. It was just a natural reaction too what was going on.
