I read up on this, I doesn't seem as big as a deal as everyone is making it. You'll still be able to grow food in your back yard, and organic farming won't become illegal. All the bill is going to do is make the FDA do there job for once. Also, I fail to see how overegulation of the American food supply will kill 3 billion, almost half of the world population, when america's population is only a few hundred million people in america. @titaniumweasel The bill in Congress RIGHT NOW, S510, has wording in it regarding CODEX. If the FDA is going to be something more than just another government/business revolving door regulation like it is now, along with the lot of these "agencies", it will take more than a corp. written "bill" to do it. @titaniumweasel by putting organic farms out of business down the road. hence all that is left to consume is big farm/GMO food, irradiated food that will then lack the live benefits of natural foods etc. over regulation is extremely costly, gives way too much power to the federal gov over food. you need to do some actual research beyond the bill itself [since you fail to see the dangers] in to real life situations that are already occurring before you go calling people names.

Thirdyly, its about nutrients. I'm no expert on food nutrients but I'll base whatever input I have here on a manga/anime I've read (Most manga are educational btw) and some trends. Only recently does swine flu/AH1N1/Bird flu came into place because of modernization.
