Clarion and Kenwood Sound.

This is my setup in my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited (5.7 Hemi). I have a Clarion DXZ575USB head unit with Boston Acoustic Speakers in Dash, Front Doors and Rear doors. I have Kenwood KFC-T207 Tweeters (65W/280W) pushed by a Kenwood KAC-6202 amp. The bass is brought by two Kenwood KFC-W2511 10" subs pushed by a Kenwood KDC-8104D amp. Not the best and loudest, but not bad at all. Sounds a whole lot better than you can hear. My Sony does not record sound real good. Please, no haters!!

I am debating in my head getting rid of the head unit I have in my 05' GCL hemi...

give up the stock 6 CD, nav and uconnect...but for the aftermarket sound....it's a tough one..

Yeah, that's a tough decision. I have actually been looking for the stock unit to put back in here. Don't know if I'd actually go through with it though. I really like my aftermarket unit. I have also been looking at the Kenwood DNX9140 to put in to keep the sound clean. I checked out a couple of Alpine unit too (double din). I'd like to have the all in one back in nav...bluetooth...dvd...etc... touchscreen too.

Did you install the radio yourself? Are you using the factory amp to run the speakers? And how to bypass the amp..to make the radio play the sound

Yes I installed the radio myself. I am not using the factory amp I am just bypassing it. I have RCA leads running from the head unit to the amps and speaker wire from the amps to the speakers. I am also using the internal amp of my head unit to power some speakers,too.

What head unit came with the car, the nav system?

Yes, it was the 6 CD/MP3 player with Navigation system. PN: P56038646AK.

How does replacing your head unit affect the Uconnect in the rear view mirror? I want to replace the stock stereo(w/o Nav) but I love the Uconnect feature. Will replacing the head unit make the whole Uconnect inop?

They are both single voice coil subs.
