@XxTrueAmericanxX Look at what happened to Germany in the long term for example. It was split in two for nearly the rest of the 20th century. Also, if you understood history properly you would realise Hitler was a psychotic killer bent on destruction and world domination. How did he achieve this? He targeted minority groups. He is one the most evil men to walk the planet, how can you possibly have someone like him as an idol???

@Bogging4 To the victors go the spoils as well at the privilege to write the history. Look at that word HIS STORY. What we here is American and Western European HIS STORY. Those are not the facts, that is the story. I wonder what the history would be like if the Nazis won the war. I am sure that someone would have produced a similar movie about FDR and portrayed him as a gangster bought by the mafia. Some sexual diseases leave victims paralyzed from the waste down. JFK had it in his back.

The only accurate thing about this trailer in regards to the movie is when the narrator says "The lies were spread".

@TheNile182 Exactly! That's why I think so much people don't understand the rise of Hitler. If the filmmakers would accept that Hitler was "just a human being", the films would be more realistic. The only movie I know where this fact is shown is "Der Untergang" ("Downfall").

About the movie: In my opinion, von Hindenburg is a "little bit too democratic". Von Hindenburg as Reichspräsident held the constitution in high regard, but he personally disapproved democracy.

@Kardanwelle1994 Interesting, I thought that was the case. Think about it, if he really had been so awkward I don't think he would have fared that well in his politics.

Who would be most likely to gain the trust of people around him; a man who rages on about the extermination of the jews to cleanse the country, or the charming man who speaks of empowering the country by means including suppressing minorities?

@TheNile182 A tip: Search for "Hitler Tonband" (a documentation). Only one recording is existing where you can here Hitler talking to a person "normally" in a discussion. It shows that Hitler wasn't as awkwardly as he was shown in the most movies. He was able to package his barbarous message into mild words.

@TheNile182 The film shows the real Hitler not very well. Hitler was able to discuss in a very charming way. There are stories where he satisfied people of his opinion who have thought in a totally different way. But the Nazi propaganda peculated every recording which is showing the "real" Hitler. Hitler didn't want to be seen as a relaxed person. He wanted to be seen as a strong "Führer" who is working hard everytime for the "Reich's glory".
