I found something that intrigued me here: http://www.krazydad.com/blog/2006/04/visual-harmony/ This then inspired me to create my own version. It has a config file in which you can change the number of the shapes, the time it takes for one complete cycle, and the magnification. I played other music in the background at the same time, and set the length of the cycle to the same amount as the music, thus turning this into a more visually happy timer for it :D. My recorder was lagging, though, so it lowered the framerate and distorted the time a bit, so after some tweaking, I found the sweet spot, but that's why it's got the jerkiness here and there. It's much smoother in the actual program.

This took me about 10 minutes to write the base code, but then a few more hours for tweaking and messing with it. Credit goes to KrazyDad, the maker of that above-mentioned website and person who coded it in Flash for the idea to start with.

This was written using SDL C++, and the music is Sonic 3 - The Outer Space Machine by Rellik from ocremix.org.

Download is at http://www.mediafire.com/?fps5igqyr676mq6 . As always, suggestions are welcome. There have been many, MANY updates since this video, allowing for a LOT more control over the style this has, so enjoy!
