I knew Leigh Ann when we worked at Six Flags as teenagers. One of my former Six Flags co-workers told me of Leigh Ann's death many, many years later. Since then, I have done some research on the case. I didn't realize it was such a high-profile killing. I am really sad to see her murderer's sentence was commuted to life in prison. I sincerely express my condolences after all these years.

As a child, we just lived 2.5 miles from that Winn-Dixie. My family and I usually walked there (we lived on S.R. 60 and U.S. 301 at the time), since we had no form of vehicle (till months alter after this happened). Was the July 4th Holiday too, I recall. I had gotten hurt on something, had to go to the doc's office near there, so our next door neighbor took us. As we were on our way there, this is when we saw/learned what happened. It was a sad day for all of us in the Clair-Mel community. :(

I remember this night... I heard it on the radio and my blood became ice water. Living in Florida at the time, it was hard to walk into a supermarket for a while. We just never thought something like this could happen. RIP to all the innocent victims who died... and hope for complete healing - inside and out - to those who survived. Rot in hell Ferry. You deserve no more than that.
Billy Ferry is now serving 5 life sentences in prison without parole!!!
