Vectors - Finding Magnitude or Length. I give the formula, and do a couple examples of finding the magitude, or length, or a vector. Nothing heavy!

  • You're a great teacher!!!

  • @FirstGradeCalculus thank ya ; )

  • Firstly, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THESE HELPFUL VIDEOS. I have yet to view the ones on your Chess Channel. Secondly, shouldn't there be an arrow/headgear/dash above b in |b| at 2:34 ?

  • @multipurpose101 yes, there should be some indication it is a vector; i probably got lazy/forgot

  • Sometimes I see ||a||. What does that mean? Is that the same as |a| ? I'm kinda confused with vectors and complex numbers :S Is the modulus the same as the length or something?

  • @DirrrtyDutchMTRFCKR i always saw that to mean the norm, which in this case, is the same thing as the length.

  • I think you should win a teaching award or the nobel peace prize or something! :) You have improved so many peoples' grades including me.

  • Thanks this does help a lot!

Internet is just amazing isn't it

  • AWW super helpfull ha ha never thought i would watch a video out of frustration towards Trigonometry!!! its not hard just confusing!!!! but it really helped thanks!!!

  • Very helpful, thank you.

  • helpfull

  • good stuff

  • thank you, was a huge help saved my life !

  • This was helpful, however I wish you would have given an example of a vector that has a point with 2 dimensions, ie. vector = 1, 5,(1,-2)) I can't figure out the base formula. delta(x) = sqrt((x-y)^2 +(y-x)^2 +(???)). I don't know whether it is -x or +x or -y or +y for the third term under the radical.

  • great video. Just a little confused about notation. When u find the magnitude, do you have to put the vector sign on top of a(whatever letter)? or it doesn't matter?

  • Is there any specific order i should watch these videos? Awesome videos btw they really helped me alot, I'm taking advanced physics this year but I didn't take advanced math last year so i have to learn this by myself :D
