I have a blainese neighbor and the poor girl is very lonely. She speaks more balinese than indonesian, but more english than indonesian, and the few indonesians around here are all muslim. She has such little access to her culture and language. She moved here with her American husband. She's begining to open up more, but i truly feel for the las. She really has nowhere to pray, so i chisled & carved one of her gods from a hunk of granite. to thank me, she made the best bebek i've ever tasted!
