in the eastern sky the harvest moon rises...it's big, orange, big ripe pumpkins, gimme some candy....

Underrated song. One of his best compositions.

@mountaintroutslayer I don't live in Washington anymore. I live in Nebraska now. And it's hot today, not to mention humid.

Dear JT, When you got the chance, you made hay. Keep doing it. Maybe we can be farmers in the next life again. x+o

coming of winter, fall of the year might be referencing the life of a person. i am looking at the coming of winter. it is the fall of my life. from that perspective this song makes a lot of sense. moving in silent desperation. say who is this walking man ? not me ! not yet. now you know the frost is on the pumpkin. we don't own the road. the walking man seems to be both revered and dreaded here. in james taylor we have an honest accounting of being human.

I live in Washington. This winter's been pretty mild unlike the last 2 when we had tons of snow. We got close to 80 inches from what I'm told. So no, I do NOT live in a warm weather state.
I was just simply pointing out that James got the seasons backwards when he said the "coming of winter and fall of the year".
