@waynebrasler I envy you the experiences of this great performer. She truly was a gift that I enjoy almost daily. An I agree, the GREATEST of performers of hers and any time.

I adore James, but for this song I prefer Tommy Dorsey with Jo Stafford :)

My favorite singer, bar none. Crystal cut clarity with lyrics, sweet voice, never rushed, always relaxed. Love her.

This is my favorite version of the song.

I envy you in that you have seen Helen many times. I note that she died at the age of 82. I was just wondering if she sang any songs at a relatively old age. At what age did she stop singing?

@waynebrasler - Thanks for the commentary on Helen Forrest. Didn't know much about her - she's good all right!
That said, they were all pretty good, weren't they? And the singers for the Glenn Miller Orchestra - Ray Eberle, Tommy Dorsey Orchestra - Frank Sinatra.

I agree...wonderful.
The greatest of the Big Band Singers, she inexplicably never made the heights as a single act though making hit records right along. Who can figure it? A very bright lady with a great figure who, when she went from brunette to blonde and altered her nose, gained great glamour too. It's that gorgeous voice and impeccable musicianship for which she will forever be remembered and celebrated. Saw her in person many times; a great artist and performer who audiences adored.
