@wizman246237 this may be late, but I'll try to explain anyway.
When he simplifies the second equation, the negative carries when he multiplies it out. When you are subtracting, you're essentially adding a negative which is why he puts a + after 3x. Sorry. That was a bad explanation. D;
Oh and ttor68, great videos you have! Makes studying for my midterm much easier. ^^

why does he add a + after 3x when there isn't a + anywhere in the 2ND equation? How do you know when to do this?
