My response to the crazy video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07WX3F... of a evangelical mom home schooling her kid, in a clip that must be from Jesus Camp. The last line utter by that kid at the end of that video was so shocking, I had to remind myself to breathe! Check out more about this on my blog, the Atheist Handbook at http://theatheisthandbook.blogspot.com/

If your assumptions about what Christian homeschoolers are learning is based on the Jesus Camp film, then you have the wrong idea. That heavily edited film shows the most stupid people to bias the public. In my case, we are open-minded to teach both creation and evolution, the global warming hypothesis and natural earth temperature variations, and different world religions besides our own. That's the kind of exposure to different viewpoints that you will never find in public schools.
Very nice, except you are making a category error, the same one made in Jesus Camp, which is to treat creationism and your sectarian views as science, as if your creation myth stands with equal footing with a scientific theory. It does not. Creationism is not science by any definition, and so long as it is taught as such, I will have little respect for religious home schooling programs.
Your use of the term "myth" when refering to creation proves to me that you haven't looked into the subject enough and that you are possibly close-minded. As for myself, I am a convert to Christianity from secular-humanism, and I became a christian after reading on the subject in depth and with an open mind. There are well-educated biologists from prestigious colleges who are creationists and have written books supporting creation. And no, I'm not talking about someone with a mail order degree.
C'mon, you know that the scientific peer review community is not open to reviewing creationism. You're trying to change the subject. My point is that we're not the ones who are close-minded. In fact my family and I are exposed to evolution MORE than we are to creationism. I could probably pretend to be an evolutionist better than most evolutionists themselves. And I'm just an architect!
You proved nothing. I have a bookshelf full of books on the subject, but I don't know which were peer reviewed or not. But that is NOT the point. The point is our open-mindedness which I mentioned in more detail below. Furthermore, I did look at your reviews and videos online. You couldn't make a point without f-word this and f-word that. Very scientific.
yes, the evil scientific community is keeping your religious ideas down. Fight the power man. Stay "open minded."
Also, are you "open minded" to the idea that other religion's creation stories are true as well. Do you give any credence to Native American or Buddhist creation stories which don't feature your chosen sky god?
aww...does the occasional cuss word wound your porcelain sensibilities?
Indeed, so in effect your view of homeschooled children that are taught scientific THEORY (Not hypothesis) along with unfounded bullshit is that they are only half stupid?
