@itsjustnancy, Thank you for your kind comment. yes, i do have great parents. my father passed away on December 28, 2003. I miss him dearly, and this song will always have a very special place in my heart. My mom will occasionally play this beautiful piece on the grand piano, and when I hear it I get all choked up still.

This is posibly my favorite of John Barry but he put out many many beautiful pieces of work.Check him out,hes great

This was my late father's favorite song, and my mom's favorite movie. On Christmas Eve before my dad passed away, my mom was playing this song, on her grand piano. I was so unusually moved by it, and unbeknownst to me it was my dad's favorite piece, and I began to cry uncontrollable as she was playing it because I was overcome by immense grief. I truly believe it was a way of preparation for my dad's death, which happened a few days later.

This is one of the most outstanding pieces of music ever done - it has a delicate, loving feeling to it that I love. But it tears at my heart just like the movie did.

I played this at my mothers funeral in May 2009. It reminds me of her every single day.

@checkerboreds My Mother died in April 2009. I took care of her for 13 years as she struggled with Alzheimer's disease. I love this song so much. Whenever I hear it, I always think of her. In my opinion, maybe the most beautiful  song ever written. Just my opinion.
