Popular Australian TV Horror Host of the 60's & 70's, Deadly ran for several years until his stock of horror & B movies ran out. Each state had its own version due to networking limitations, this is Victoria's Ralph Baker. This is the only known surviving clip so if anyone has more let us know.

  • I remeber Deadly Earnest. The show featured a move called "The Ghost of Sierra de Cobra". It was the most frightening movie I have till this day ever seen.I hid behind the bookcase to watch movies I wasn't allowed to & this movie made me so paralised with fear I couldn't move and got busted by Mum.IMDb web site has dedicated 2 pages of other peoples experience watching this movie and we have Deadly Earnest to thank as i'm sure the others watching it were watching it in the 60's like me.

  • As a kid Deadly Earnest really scared me. If we had been out late and come home while he was on I would leap behind the couch and hide. Just one glance of him would give me nightmares. Dad would always say come out of there, but I would wait till the movie started. Now I can lol.

  • Deadly Earnest-Great Spooky TV Character And Entertainer.

Long Time Ago On Friday Nights.

  • I saw Deadly at the local shopping centre ( Thrift Park ) in Melb. He took a swig of blood (tomato juice) from a glass and some kid in the crowd fainted, what a showman!! Thankyou so much for the ghoul times.

    Loz

  • Deadly's question about torture and laugh at 01:50 is pure genius.

  • Ahh, such lovely child hood memories watching "Deadly" on a Friday night. Didnt he have a pet that he fed?

  • As terrified as I was of Deadly earnest as a kid, I used to watch him late on a Friday night when i used to sneek into the loungeroom without my parents knowledge. One night I remember watching The Gill Man in the dark and was so petrified I too was hiding under a blanket until these cats starting fighting ouside the loungeroom window on the fence and making horrible noises, I took off and dived into bed and not able to sleep at night thinking the gill man was coming to get me.

  • Deadly ernest no one better and he used to appear at shopping centres long live the horror god !

  • ha whata cack... I loved watching - or half watching Deadly on a friday night if memory serves me correctly....used to scare the crap out of me (7 or 8)... Ralph was great..lots of humour wish he was on now.... Late night maybe on go channel!
