After spending many hours trying to electrically slow the motor speed (and getting the wrong kind of smoke - generated from melted plastic and electrical devices!) I went for a simpler option...

  • you could have geared the motor

    or yoused a battery for the smoke

    Actually, no I couldn't. There's no room for extra gearing and a battery wouldn't have supplied enough power to get the smoke going.

  • @Tomlan2007 i can appreciate that 2 AA batteries wouldn't be enough for the smoke but would a 9v battery do? just a thought.

  • @dkbmaestrorules It's certainly worth a try. I've not used a 9v battery it myself. If you go down that route, please tell me how you get on.

  • @Percyfan1991 Hi. It was a Seuthe No 100 smoke unit which you can get from Gaugemaster. I think the new No 99 will work even better.   • Thats a lot of smoke jeez u could clear the room with that train and thats just what i like a train with lots of smoke ora
