Le Studio of Morin-Heights is a legend in the music industry. For me, it is only a 15 minutes drive. I went there this weekend to show the place to my good friend Pierre. I was expecting things to have changed a little since I have not been there for a while. But, what I found was devastating for me. The giant Dragon is no longer breathing. The place is empty and in a very poor state. For all the Rush fans you will see the room where TOM SAWYER and LIMELIGHT videos were shot, with a pool table siting where Neil Peart's drumkit was installed. I took a shot of the lake behind the Studio. I'm very sad that this place is no longer in use. It had an incredible spirit. It was a masterpiece from Andre Perry a genius in audio recording, a reference all over the world. I wish I could do something to turn back time and fix this. this cannot be. It was a magical place. A lost jewel. 29-05-2010. I also included photos from a visit in Le Studio when RUSH was recording Presto. Much happier times.

  • Any confirmation of whether it's been torn down? As I posted on Le Studio Channel, this should be an easy fundraiser if for sale. I see conflicting comments on that on different channels.

  • @erythroniumamericanu So far I do not know. i'm planning to go ski with my daughter in a week or two so I will stop by.. then I will know... So will you and the rest of us who still care about that... Thanks.

  • Geez... this is a shame, why don't someone buys it, the Music Industry or even Rush themselves, and create a museum out of it! Dam, any respect for the "patrimoine", anyone?

  • @jnyveslbl I know what you mean. But I think that Rush members are not sentimental about it... We mere mortals might see things from a different perspective... What more can we say? Can't wait to see the outcome of all this... I will keep you posted...

  • @NeilPeartmood Yea, well, maybe Sony, they made bilions out of music made in that studio. I doubt Céline would know anything about that, but René does, why not ask them (if Céline still has a bit of Québec in her)!

  • @jnyveslbl sony.. I doubt that... Maybe René could have his own little casino up-there.. LOL!

  • Thanks for posting this. Such a shame to see it in a state of disrepair like this. Makes me want to make my own pilgrimage to Morin Heights and see it for myself, before it's gone for good :(
