  • Irene Namkung and I represented Elizabeth Cotten r for her last dozen years. She was our first client. This song was covered by the Grateful Dead and Bob Dylan among others. The photo is by Irene's father, noted Northwest photographer, Johsel Namkung, in concert, Seattle, WA, ca 1974.

  • @jsu627 Wow, amazing. Why did Elizabeth need representation? I didn't know Dylan covered this song.

  • Beautiful playing

  • It sounds like 4 people are playing guitars....amazing!

  • Shes the graceful sister of Mississippi John Hurt :) she must be!

  • such a beautiful voice of honesty.

  • @Shroomeryslearyfan He did, live in the early 2000s. you wont find it on any albums though sadly

  • Nothin' like that "Cotten" picking. For those who don't know, the photo here wasn't reversed; she played left-handed on a normally strung guitar. Thanks for posting.

  • Cotten's playing continues to be an ever lasting inspiration to me.
