@RufflesArt definitely, go in with a light pencil first, draw your characters, then your bubbles and the go back over to finalise in pen.

I tend to rough out the drawings first to see how they'll fit. then I do Word ballons and then go back to roughing out the art :b

could you somehow draw the chracters first then add the wording. Also are the writer for the cartoon also

I like to do the art, then scan and photoshop everything else. Text boxes are important but I never thought of putting them first...well see.

Nice! I like the finished work. Here are some things to add. You need to design your characters thoroughly before you start the comic, What will they look like from different angles, and doing different activities. You need to consider your story. Each story has a beginning, middle, and end. For younger students, remember - every story is a mystery! Your reader won't know what's happening until you tell them, somehow in your work.
