Sorry if this is sloppy. I may make a revised version of this later on. :)

  • @Quelaag That was me who wrote that comment and deleted it. I wrote it late at night and thought it was unclear so I deleted it and planned on rewriting it today. I had thought that maybe the dark sign was created by the Gods to give a reason for the humans to send those with the sign to the asylum, and only descendants of the pygmy would not go crazy from going hollow because they inherit the dark soul. I plan on visiting Kaathe on my current playthrough, that should clear things up for me.

  • @thekittleone :3 Fasho! Goodluck! The requirements to meet him are very easy to mess up.

  • There was a comment asking if it was possible if the Dark Sign could potentially be caused by God - but I think it was removed or something? I'm not seeing it. :'C Regardless, Kaathe elaborates on the origin of the Dark Sign.

  • Re: the Witch of Izalith, I was under the impression that she either wanted to create a First Flame that was not in danger of going out (ie, she was trying to accomplish the same goal Gwyn was) or she wanted to create multiple First Flames; an age where Gods would be every where would appear. I got the second interpretation from the fact that she dealt in Pyromancy, which is the only mystic art that is completely separate from an stat you were born with- the potential for unlimited learning.

  • @Moremooremore Just because her goal was the same as Gwyn, doesn't mean they were not at odds with one another. Especially considering many of the knight's weapons say that they hunted the demons created by Izalith. Also, I suggest looking up the dialog with Kaathe. He mentions some things about the darksign and the age of man. I can't recall the quote exactly.

  • @Quelaag Oh that and her "location" is very distant from Gwyn. Seems strange that two people with the same goals would be that far apart. She's quite literally on the opposite end of the map.

  • Nice video, this really explains a lot. I was thinking - maybe the furtive pygmy is called a pygmy because he/she was so small compared to the size of so many others - Smough, the ancient dragon, titanite demons, Sif etc. - and that's why humans were able to make it this far - and then you as the Chosen Undead make the statement "Size doesn't matter"

  • Could the word pygmy been chosen by the fact that nearly all other beings were like giants in size and power compared to the "furtive pygmy"

  • My head hurts.

  • @Baller527 no

  • pretty intresting lore - i love how the lore is presented in dark souls - a verry good video - but it could be so much better with a little bit of editing,backround-artwork,meabey drawn by yourself, seems you can draw pretty good, and then just a voiceover.that would be awesome but its good enough as it is,its just a thought.

  • Any idea why Kaathe wants the dark wraiths to farm humanity for him?

  • Is the world of the undeads and of the humans the same? Also, do every undead have the dark soul? If so, what's the difference with the dark sign?
