TARGET PROTEST: Free to be. . . a parody

Please help tell Target to stop giving money to bigots. This is a parody of Target's back-to-school ad campaign and its donation to support anti-gay bigot Tom Emmer. I made this in one night, using After Effects CS4. The song is sung by The New Seekers-- used without permission.

uhg video like this should be taken down for its shear stupidity. targets not taking sides they jus donate to somebody they think will eventualy give back to them its all about business people if he can make them money who cares what he thinks

Target was given the opportunity to show that they were "not taking sides," as you claim, by contributing a matching amount to a candidate who supports gay rights. They decided not to. If you do not object to businesses donating to candidates with close links to people who think it's fun to talking about beating up gay people, that's your choice. Target put being "pro-business" over being "pro-decency."

Target doesn't hate gays (although, given their record of individual donations to bigots, I think some of their executives might.) What Target has done is give approval and support to Tom Emmer. Whether or not Emmer hates gays, he opposes equal treatment for us, and he has close allies whose statements about gay people (violence against us might be okay) that go far beyond anything in this video. And not all recovering alcoholics are as politically incompetent as George W. Bush.

I think everybody kinda missed the sarcasm of the video. I'm gay and I understood what it meant. There is irony in that Target used this song after supporting anti-gay politicians. Don't you get it? Of course God loves gay people, as He does everyone! Target is the one who hates gays.... get it?? Sarcasm --it's something everyone should understand.

this is so dumb. they gave money to PAC Minnesota Forward which helped air tom emmers, who has no plans on stopping gay people from being gay.
