British Army - Autobahn (UK)

I know this has already been uploaded, but I wanted the chance to comment on it, because I honestly believe that these two adverts are one of the most thought-provoking and well-made road safety campaigns ever. Full marks to the British Army and their agency for these adverts, which will be shown on BFBS TV and also to soldiers during the process of their reintroduction to civilian life. Whether it'll make a difference with the meat-heads that will be watching it (I kid, I kid...) is another matter.

This one is entitled Autobahn, and shows the emergency services and other people getting into position to view the obligatory accident.

i ride a bike for years now, was in alot of hot situations (just comes with ridin a bike) and thank god, always got outa it!

This and its sister advert 'Debris' are two of the best road safety adverts you will never see. Superb work from the creative team behind them and deserving winners of its Gold Cannes Lion award June 2009.

All emergency crews featured were real crews, off-duty recruited for filming.

They should be shown on terrestrial tv, or at least in cinema, the message applies to all drivers essentially.

Pretty much agree with all of that. It's a real shame that these won't be seen by civvies.

As an Army Soldier I can honestly say that the guy riding this bike was a novice. If he was an experienced soldier such as myself, he would've been able to control his bike, ramp the median and gotten some major cheers and claps from the emergency services people who were blocking the other lane.

Wow, this is so powerful, the faces of the people waiting for him to die are just how people would look knowing that he HAD died, And they all say the the same thing: if only he had not speeded.
