Onboard racing footage shot with the new Tachyon XC onboard camera. Give it a thumbs up for the clarity. This was shot during the secong leg of the racing event during the Riggins Idaho jet boat races. You'll ride aboard team Tuff-n-Nuffs B class race boat hitting some serious speeds as they tear up the river flying over rapids and weaving through rocks at a preety good speed. This race team has taken the idaho cup numerous times during the racing event. The river was flowing close to 6000 cfs, which is pretty low for the Salmon River.

  • well i think that he did some great handling in some of those turns where it got pretty choppy. backed out of the throttle as little as possible, and nailed the technical sections. great run

  • @pbannyatsugarloaf Might be why those boys have taken the Idaho Cup 3 years in a row!

  • Why aren't the drivers in an enclosed roll cage? I would prefer being in one instead of next to one. Is this easier to escape from when upside down?

  • @SCRTpilot They aren't allowed to have a rollbar directly over their heads for saftey reasons. A driver was knocked the F out when his head hit the rollbar during an accident. What you don't see is there is a double hoop (rollbar) just behind their heads. Your just seeing the forward bar.

  • wow

  • @racing16 Great coverage, the tachyon held up well, some realy good action shots, it doesn't give the visual sensation of speed but looks good quality footage.

  • @jwandhistools They were tracked doing 94 mph through a hole called the woodpecker hole. The yellow box is a gps transmitter. It gives out their location on the track and speeds are caculated through the different sections of the course as they pass by. So yeah you nailed it!
