Remember seeing this in the theater and how moved I was at the reality...no bombastic over hollywoodized version of war...rather very real .....made me think of the black and w photos discovered in a box in basement after a flood. the were from WW2 pacific theater that somehow my dad had gotten from Army photographer.....disturbing and haunting images like this movie portrayed...man's inhumanity to man fighting most often for someone elses gain...Gen Smedley Butler's famous quote came to mind.
