An animation of a v16 engine, 16 pistons at a 135 degree spread. 8 piston pairs, 4 on either side. This engine acts similar to a flatplane v8 and v12 in that piston pairs are located in the same bank of cylinders; only one bank is at TDC at any given time.

Firing order is not from any particular make or model... like there were ever a lot of different V16s made ;)

  • imagine how long an inline 16 would be o.o

  • @ChipmunkChannel16 It's not basically a V16, it's a real W16, two V8s side-by-side.

  • @rjhall90 lol yep.

  • @ChipmunkChannel16 W16 is nothing close to a V16. In a W16, you only have 8 cylinders per crankshaft.

  • @Thegthatkillsall Depends on the displacement. I imagine if you made a 3.0L I16, you may be able to make it pretty small. It'd be smooth as all hell and sound bananas though.

  • the second view is trippy haha

  • @Thegthatkillsall look at a cadillac sixteen those cars have v16 s

  • This is an animation of a 38-40 flathead Cadillac V16. They attempted to make a less expensive V16 and drop the V12 all together but they only sold 500 of them in those three years. The 30-37 V16 had overhead valves and a much narrower V.

I have a 38 that needs an original motor.

  • @mishotatishvili I think you meant .100 mpg.. :P

  • Do a straight 4 animation
