Lamont Dozier, singer and songwriter, explains the unique singing style of General Norman Johnson, lead singer of The Chairmen of The Board. The General passed away on October 13th.

  • I wondered why HDH left the "B-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-d!!" in the song- I'm glad they did because it's my favorite part .

  • There are plenty of informative UK specialist magazines and websites, but it's taken the US quite a long time to fully realise the significance - not only of the background information, but also of 60s and 70s Soul music itself I feel, to the effect that many artists' stories have possibly been lost forever. Hopefully the musicians themselves and internet community will work together to rectify this.

    Respect to them all.
