  • If you search "stagecoach (1939) black and white" the first answer on the search is the full movie in black and white. (Not that I'm not grateful for the upload but the black and white is better)

  • @thejustnosy Actually the Uploads you mention that comes up is from youtube user JohnWayneTV. That is my other youtube channel. And I uploaded both the Black and White version and the Colorized version on that channel. But yes, I agree that the restored Black and White version is superior to the colorized version.

  • WAS THIS COLORIZED IN THE 1980S

  • @bobszvetics1 Yes it was colorized back in the 1980's. The black & white version was later digitally restored and is now looks really good. But the colorized version was done from the old black and white version before it was restored.

  • Why would they ever colorize this???!

It's a masterpiece in black and white, and the colorization just makes it look old and crappy.

    Thanks for uploading anyway, though.

  • Ted Turner wanted to colorized Citizen Kane. Orson Welles said tell Mr. Turner and his goddamn crayolas to stay away from my film, I paraphrase.

  • Colorized movies are such shit. "The audience prefers color", was, I think, the argument at the time. Well, a stupid audience. And I hate pandering to the stupid.

  • As much as most people hate to hear it, there is a profound allegory at the heart of this movie, of Jesus and his fallen bride. It is a really beautiful look at true goodness.

  • Ew! Color! What's wrong with good 'ol black and white?

  • the colorising messes up the lighting of the original black and white movie. These craftsmen were masters at that, all of which is lost in this silly colorised print.

  • Man the colour is gross (I'm not a fan of colourizing older movies anyway), but thank you so much for posting! Better uploaded in colour than not uploaded at all.

  • this really great hope they release these in dvd in color

  • @johnwaynemovie thank you i must of missed it in the 80s because i brought alot of colorized films on video tape
