On Tuesday, Wikileaks founder Julian Assange sought political asylum at the Ecuadorian embassy in London, UK. At a press conference today in Quito, the foreign minister said to the media that the government is evaluating the request and looking into the rules of international law. Back in 2010 the country offered the whistleblower citizenship, but why is Assange seeking to depart to Ecuador now? RT America's Web Producer Andrew Blake helps us answer some of these pressing questions.

This strange Australian person does puzzle me: He can’t be the great detractor of global American tyranny, as he does style himself, else he would have been assassinates or abducted long ago, as does happen everyday all around the world to people, who did hurt the USA far less than he did by making their dirty schemes publicly known. So he maybe just a braggart but this will only been revealed if he is transferred to Sweden and not handed over to the USA, what he will not risk of course.

I dont think my country should give asylum to a criminal, so that means that the country are going to be a refuge for criminals...if they are so "MACHOS" to do the crime why they run to hide in a different country, tlhey should be machos to face the consequences. And probably the "sex assault thing" is a lie but the wikileaks is not and he should pay for it, what now ? is he going to leak the confidentiality of the Ecuadorian gov. as well? cause he is a Hacker regardless. Get the hell OUT!

If Mr Assange leaves Ecuador Embassy, his fate will be GUANTANAMO or even worse the DEATH PENALTY.
